HOOK 360° Boat Wrap Unveiling with Andy "Salty Cuban" Alvarez
The expanse of blue water stretched in every direction towards the shades of orange and yellow horizon. The way the sun’s rays seemed to scatter like diamonds on the surface of the sea would make anyone feel at paradise.
Paradise is where we are blessed to live and today is an exciting day for the HOOK 360° family. We approached one of our first customers and now HOOK 360° ambassador, Andy Alvarez who enjoys the water daily about wrapping his boat. Andy is a true outdoorsman and today we are happy to unveil his newly wrapped fishing machine! In addition to the reveal we are giving away a matching blue geo hat and neck gaiter.
Andy “Salty Cuban” Alvarez grew up in paradise by the sea and sometimes woke up to the sound of waves on the golden sands in Key West, Florida. He was born and raised in Miami Princeton/Homestead and spent all of his summers in the Florida Keys surrounded by family and friends.
Since he was a child, Alvarez had a lifelong passion for the great outdoors. Such as boating, fishing, snorkeling, and enjoying the overall ocean lifestyle. In Alvarez’s 30 years of boating experience, he has bumped through the waves on a speedboat, has caught everything from barracuda to Spanish mackerel, and today as a HOOK 360° ambassador.
“As I grew up in this environment with my family it was a very natural process to pass this enjoyment and privilege of the great outdoors to my children,” said Alvarez.
In 2004, Alvarez and his family left the Miami area and moved to where they live now, Central Florida. Alvarez was looking forward to the different types of activities and outdoor adventures.
“To say fishing is a little different up here would be an understatement,” said Alvarez. “Here we’ve adopted inshore fishing for the likes of Red Fish, Sea trout, Snook, and the occasional flounder from a 12ft Jon boat called “Shark Bait” or from one of many kayaks that we have added to our collection.”
Alvarez’s personal fishing preference is still offshore (or deep-sea fishing). Alvarez enjoys spending his outdoor adventure days 35 miles offshore because according to Alvarez, “you just never know what the day will bring or Mother Nature is going to throw at you.”
HOOK 360° and Alvarez have once again taken to the waters. Only this time, Alvarez stepped it up and brought in the latest member of his fishing fleet a 26ft Walkaround made by Century with twin 150hp Yamaha’s.
“She’s got some experience to her,” said Alvarez. “She was built in 1999 but this is just how we like ‘em.”
The watercraft has been decked out with Outriggers, Downriggers, Garmin electronics with a Satellite locator, Kicker audio and lots of Penn fishing gear which Alvarez is very partial to.
Sailing – like flying over water, dancing over the white-crested waves, cleaving a path through the wind-whipped water - Leaving the duties of the land behind you to set sail into the wide adventurous blue.
Sailing is just another example of paradise and the pleasures of life.
Alvarez said, “With over 30 years of boating experience and a long list of safety precautions, this is where we love to be.”
Here at HOOK 360° since day one our mission has been to promote a better planet for the next generation and Andy embodies that mission. Sharing his passion for the ocean with his 4 kids and now continuing the tradition down to his 5 grand children.
